There's a mass shooting out there, near a popular gay club, and this is on the weekend when the city of Oslo is set to host their pride parade, but two people were killed in at least 19 injured, early Saturday morning their time, when a gunman opened fire outside of two night clubs and a diner, they did apprehend one male suspect appears to be acting alone, and one crime reporter,

for the Norwegian public broadcaster just happened to be around there, and he told one of the media outlets that he saw a man arrive at the scene with a bag, and then he just set the bag down, opened it up, took the gun out, and started shooting.

Now the city of Oslo's annual pride parade is scheduled for Saturday as well, and they are intending to investigate this as a hate crime.

In case you didn't know, gay couples have had the right to marry and have children in Norway since 2009, and this is like a popular gay bar, it's called the London pub, and it's only a few blocks away from Norway's parliament building,

it did open in the 1970s, shootings as you can imagine are very rare in Norway, which is a country of 5 million people since we're going to do a lot of gun stuff in America this week,

might as well talk about their gun laws, gun owners there must be licensed and take safety classes, and there is a ban on semi-automatic weapons enacted by the Norwegian parliament.

Guys, quick pop quiz, do you remember that guy's name? That would be Anders Breivik.

3:24.0

Remember in 2011, he detonated that fertilizer bomb in downtown Oslo, that killed eight people, and then he went and killed 69 people at that shooting rampage at a political summer camp.

3:34.0

So they passed that ban on semi-automatic weapons in response to that, and that ban took effect last year.

It doesn't say in his article, it just says weapons, unsure if that includes handguns as well, because obviously most handguns these days are semi-automatic.

3:53.0

Definitely rifles though, and remember Breivik himself received a 21-year sentence for the attacks.

4:00.0

That is the maximum sentence you can receive under Norwegian law, but you can re-up that sentence.

4:06.0

And indeed, Breivik was denied parole last February.

4:12.0

Remember, I covered that on a podcast by a Norwegian court that said, basically, well, he doesn't appear to have any regret or sympathies.

4:19.0

I think his diary call correctly, he was doing like a Nazi salute in the courtroom, which is probably in advisable if you're looking for a reprieve on your sentence.

4:29.0

I have a quick update from the New York Times, just some new information here.

4:36.0
