Hello, everyone from San Diego. It is BK here. Thank you very much for checking out the podcast. The only podcast where one man, one voice goes solo for two and a half

hours straight, no breaks, no editing. I keep trying to tell you guys, I'm the only one with the

intelligence to do that in this kind of podcast. There is

nobody else. I mean, come on. Everybody else has producers and co-hosts, everything else you

can possibly think of. This is a one-man operation supported by you, the guys who keep, and gals

who keep tuning in every week to check it out, get the real news

of what's going on all around the world that our media criminally neglects. And I want to

thank each and every one of you for keep coming back and I really appreciate it. So let's go

ahead and get into it. Why don't we start with a quick update on the now longest government

shutdown ever. That's right. As of midnight on Saturday, so early, early this morning,

the shutdown did enter its 22nd day, which officially makes it the longest government shutdown

in American history. This beat the previous record under

Bill Clinton in 1995, which was 21 days. Now, in case you're wondering, since 1976, there have been

21 gaps in government funding, is how the New York Times phrases this. Though the level of shutdown is

varied, let's keep in mind that when you say government shutdown, obviously most of the government

is not shut down. It's partial shutdown. The current federal shutdown is partial. As many agencies

have been already funded through this fiscal year, which ends in September.

So not for a really long time.

Now, some of why this happens stems back to decisions that started in the 1970s.
