This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast.

And last time around, we were talking about twinsies, twin movies, movies that came out roughly the same year from different studios and

they kind of look the same. And you know what? Dang it, that was a B-minus example on my part.

In terms of the all-time tight analogies, I'm not sure that one is up there in the history of this podcast.

Here's where that analogy worked for talking about the books of Philemon and Colossians.

They're books that go together. Thematically, they deal with the same stuff.

And so in that regard, you know, it's kind of like ants and a bug's life.

They're both

dealing with kind of the same thing. They come from the same moment. Whatever.

Here is why it wasn't an A plus analogy, though, and I just need to own this. I just need to

apologize for it. Because Colossians and Philemon aren't by different studios. They're

literally written by the same guy, and literally the same pair of dudes delivered these two letters to basically the same audience.

So no, no, no.

I want to try my analogy again here today.

I think a better likening for Philemon and Colossians or something else would be to companion books of literature. There are certain books in history

that aren't even from the same genre, and they're not from the same sequence, they're not

sequels of each other, they're not a part of the same series, but they tackle the same stuff

from different angles, even from different genres, and they are best read as, I like this term.

They're best read as companion books.
