0:00.7	There is a huge difference between saving and investing.
0:04.6	Think about chickens and eggs.
0:06.0	I always say if you took a chicken
0:08.6	and it started to lay 10 eggs a week
0:10.6	and you had the concept of saving,
0:12.8	well then you could take that one egg out of that every week
0:16.5	and you could put that one egg in a basket
0:18.3	because you're only used nine.
0:20.0	Yet if you do that long enough,
0:21.9	what'll happen is the basket will soon run over.
0:25.8	Well that's one thing, you're saving.
0:28.2	If you took a dollar and stuck it in a drawer,
0:30.3	come back 10 years later if nobody sees it,
0:32.5	that dollar is still there, that's saving.
0:35.1	But when you do that, that dollar,
0:38.2	those eggs sitting in that basket,
0:40.2	they will not reproduce themselves,
0:42.6	which is what investing allows us to do.
0:44.8	If you took one of those eggs out of each full basket,
0:47.2	put it in the incubator,
0:48.5	well that will eventually turn into another small chicken
0:51.8	which will grow up and eventually start laying eggs itself.
