I'm Mary Meckley and I welcome you to the end of one year and the beginning of a brand new year.

In today's episode, you're going to start off in a different way than usual.

start off with a breathing technique. And you'll be introduced to a little prep work.

This is three ways to close out the current year and to usher in the brand new year. So I'll be

celebrating the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day ceremonies just as you are.

Now, I want to mention your challenge because your challenge is an important

part of this week's series. The New Beginnings quest for this week has you doing three things.

The first thing is to select a word to represent your year and you likely did that as you were guided

through the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day meditations. You also selected a totem, some

symbol to represent your journey and this is something that's fun to do.

And you might think that, oh, this is not really so important to what you want to achieve

during the year.

But whatever effort you put into whatever you're trying to achieve for the year, you're going to realize that

these are all different anchors that you place around your life. You weave these into your life

and soon you find that you are being reminded constantly about what it is you want to achieve.
