Hey, brother! Toy Story 5, a film that is over a year away, but I already feel like I've been anticipating it for five years,

even though I wasn't really determined to have a fourth installment to what was already like, you know, like a perfect trilogy.

I mean, we witnessed and related to the love that a child has for their favorite toy,

understood the almost void-like hole that those

special friends can fill in our hearts, whatever shape that might take, including a dinosaur

or a potato.

I'm from play school, and I'm from Mattel.

Then we watched those toys come to life and amazingly fell in love with their goals

to prioritize their kids at the absolute highest level.

Over in that house is a kid who thinks you are the greatest, and it's not because you're a space ranger pal.

It's because you're a toy. You are his toy.

It was heartwarming to think that anyone or anything out there had one singular passion to make sure that you were happy and whole.

With the unique catch that you were providing them with something in return.

Purpose.

Because in so many ways, Woody, Buzz, Jesse, Potato Head, Rex, Slink, Ham, and the rest of the gang

could give our childhood selves a huge sense of comfort.

At times, maybe even make us feel less alone. Then as we all grew up,

it was easier to relate to the goals of the toys themselves, the caretakers of children,

who will go to extraordinary lengths and fight hard for a child's happiness. And I think it's

those emotions that tie us so tightly to the goals and ambitions of Woody and friends.

Like, they're looking out for the child in all of us and serving as reminders to the importance of bringing joy to the little ones in our own lives.

So with that in mind, we asked ourselves, in a world of sequels on top of sequels and reboots and team ups and cash grabs, what on earth could Toy Story 5 actually do to win our hearts?
