After three years, he announced he was making a comeback to chase his MLB dream and return to pitch professionally. He appeared in 23 games with the Phillies’ Double- and Triple-A affiliates in 2021, striking out 60 batters in 71.1 innings pitched. In 2022, his dream was realized as he made his MLB debut in June with the Phillies. He would appear in 6 games, allowing two earned runs in 10.1 innings.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Appel about achieving his MLB dream, remaining patient with God's plan and why he's building himself a super-van to drive around the country with.
