There's something wrenching about listening to Pitbull Music in 2025.

Yeah, you just heard me right right? I just called the work

of Mr. Worldwide wrenching. Obviously, I don't mean the music itself. Pitbull, who's released

an entire Uvra of knowingly silly bangers about naughty sex, being unfathomably rich, and having

an absolute colligulin level of excess fun for nearly two decades, has never

exactly aimed to tug at our heartstrings. But coming back through his discography in preparation

for this episode, especially the winningly earnest, aspirational, relentlessly buoyant, peak cross-cultural

edem slammers, which constituted his imperial run from about 2009 to 2014, I found myself

heartbroken.

In 2025, these are anthems for a completely lost time, where even when things were tough,

maybe you'd hit the club for one transcendent night and all would be fine, where you could be down and out, but still have hoped that tomorrow was a new day to strive for something better.

Where, soundtracked by a Latino American superstar

who more or less lived the ever more risable notion of the American dream, unimaginably huge air quotes

there, you could be healed by the sheer togetherness and good feelings of joining with your human
