Its theme is Light Infantry, and the idea is that we discuss this theme a little further in this podcast and one thing i wondered about wanted to ask especially murray i guess if he knows is there's

any tactical thought in his um his studies about how warfare should be done.

They do mention light infantry, but obviously the focus of the tactical literature

is always on normally the commander or on the heavy infantry.

There are mentions of the Peltas, for instance, in the

Tactica, but they really only seem to be a mirror of the way that the heavy infantry is

organized. So there doesn't seem to be an appreciation of basically their mobility in the actual literature itself.

And I think that that's borne out by the whole idea that they aren't something that's to be

proud of as a sort of a military achievement which you get in some of the sources.
