Hello from Washington, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

It's been a month, believe it or not, just a month since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

announced the start of a formal House impeachment inquiry.

And since then, well, we've had a lot of developments happen under the radar in Capitol Hill

from the drumbeat of closed door testimony to Republican protest over the inquiry process.

But it was Tuesday that may be the big day.

These threads all came to a head with bombshell testimony from the current ambassador to Ukraine,

Bill Taylor, he's acting in the bathroom, he still sits in that post.

And a series of minute long speeches on the House floor from Republicans also seem to

at least give a hint at how nervous they're starting to get.

So today I'm joined by two of the most plug-and-reporters on Capitol Hill these days.

My own colleague here at NBC Newsly and called, well, Jake Sherman, the co-author of Politico's

playbook.

And he's been staying up late watching a little baseball as well.

I think Leanne, we're warming to it, aren't you?

I mean, it is the world series.

I have to kind of take advantage of it.

And it's a local team in it, right?
