Summary

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers kickoff their best-of-seven series in a Round 1 matchup against the New York Knicks, falling 111-104. After getting off to a great start, leading by nine after the first quarter, the Knicks took control in the second by outscoring the Sixers 33-12 and a 12 point halftime lead. New York outrebounded Philadelphia 23-9 leading to plenty of 2nd chance points, playing a key role in the home win. Embiid tweaked his repaired left knee late in the second quarter, returned after halftime but didn’t appear to be the same when he returned.
