Appreciate the opportunity to fill in for John as he gets some well-deserved time off.

Been fairly low-key holidays for me. What about for you? I mean, we were in town over Christmas.

We had a great Christmas party at the house. We had some issues with some home maintenance.

I'm going to have to take out a home equity loan, I think, to pay for some plumbing repairs that were most unexpected and unwelcome.

But hey, that's what goes with owning a home, right? So before

the break, we were talking about crime, you know, not to be a bummer, but it's a reality of life here

in Southern California. You have to be careful these days. You never know when and where you might

become a victim, and we certainly don't want that to happen.

One of the things that we're hoping for is that Nathan Hockman, the new Los Angeles County District Attorney,

along with his counterparts in other Southern California counties, particularly Orange County, San Bernardino, San

Riverside, Ventura, they continue to send out the message to the bad guys that they're cracking down on crime.

And a couple of numbers, which have sort of been in the news, are 47 and 36.

Now, if you follow the news and if you're listening to us here on KFI, I'm going to assume that you're, that you do pay attention to what's happening, that you vote, that you're up on current events. So I don't probably need to tell you, but I'm going to remind you about Prop 47. That was back in November of 2014 when California voters passed Prop 47. It's a law that
