1:34.5	the New Deal. So Peter, welcome to software up radio. Great to be here, Rad. Thanks very much for having me.
1:40.9	Now, will you tell me the name of your book? The name of the book is Uniting America,
1:46.6	how FDR and Henry Stimson brought Democrats and Republicans together together to win World War Two.
1:53.3	That's the book, and I'm very excited to talk to you about it today.
1:56.8	Well, I would like to just dive into this, you know, we hear about today's politics,
2:01.6	so there's a new deal being out there, you know, and we hear about people talking about the new
2:05.5	deal being brought back up today. Is this being based off of kind of like the new deal of the old days
2:11.1	with FDR and Henry Stimson, where they're trying to bring bipartisanship together and, you know,
2:16.0	have this unity of, you know, the House, the Senate, the Congress, everybody, all the different
2:21.4	executive levels of branches. You know, it's really interesting. In today's world, we tend to think
2:28.0	of bipartisanship taking place mostly in Congress when members of the two parties vote together.
