I'm Mark Stout, the Museum's historian.

We've got a real treat for you today. We're joined by an old friend, Peter

Ernest, the museum's executive director, who as you probably know has done dozens of

these spy cast interviews on the interviewer side of the table and we thought

we'd turn the table on him today.

He's got a distinguished and fascinating career in intelligence to talk about, so we thought

we'd explore that a little bit.

Peter joined the CIA in 1957, retired in 1994.

He spent many years overseas, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. He worked in Intelligence Collection

and also in covert action going toe-to-to-to-to-to-to-with Soviet Block Communist

organizations. He also served for quite a number of years at CIA

headquarters including as liaison to the US Senate, I'm sure a challenging job, and

director of media relations, among other things.

After his retirement from the CIA in 1994,

he eventually came to the International Spy Museum,

joining it in early 2002, about six months or so

before we opened in the summer of 2002 and he's been here ever
