I'm chatting with Barnabas Piper's son of Pastor John Piper.

I'm a pastor's kid.

I'm John Piper's son.

And now I'm somebody who is a writer and podcasts myself.

And so I've kind of put myself in front of people.

But then how do I maintain privacy?

And so like, so honesty and openness and privacy are a difficult thing to balance.

Because privacy and secrecy are really similar too.

And one of those is good and one of those is bad.

And so when I saw the way that you were able to get up and say,

this is where I'm coming from, my heart is in just this very sort of raw, hurt, exhausted place.

Inside I was thinking me too.

And outside I probably had my arms crossed and pretty blank look on my face.

Barnabas isn't just John Piper's son.

He's an author in his own right.

He's written the pastor's kid, helped my unbelief.

And his newest book, The Curious Christian.
