And I'm so excited to be talking about an amazing verse that I think many of us have actually taken out of context.

And I'm sure that you can tell which verse I'm going to be talking about today based on today's episode title.

We're going to be going over first John chapter 4 verse 18 where it talks about perfect love casting out fear.

But there's more to this verse than just those words. I think it's so easy to be in situations and to just call upon that verse.

Well, perfect love cast out fear, right? So it shouldn't fear. But that verse goes on to say a bit more.

And what's even more important than that verse alone is the context that leads up to it.

And the best part is that I know that this is going to be such an encouragement to so many of you like it's been for me.

And probably in a different area of your life that you didn't expect this verse to apply to. All right.

So we're going to jump into today's episode and I am really excited.

This also might be a shorter episode just because this is really going to be about getting straight to the point.

Now in the past, when regarding this verse, I have always understood it and called it to mind whenever I've been afraid of something.

Like, oh my gosh, I'm so afraid to talk to this person and confront them about this issue I have.

But perfect love cast out fear. So like I shouldn't be afraid to, you know, confront them about things, right?

Or I'm really scared to trek this mountain into climb this because it's super steep.

But like no need to fear because perfect love cast out fear, right?

Maybe it won't cast me off the mountain and I won't, you know, fall and all that scary stuff.

But here's the thing. Number one, we need to understand what fear is.

And number two, we need to understand this verse. Okay. So what is fear?
