Welcome back my friends, today we are learning how to care for carnivorous plants as best

as humanly possible back again with Josh Brown of predatory plants.

Josh told us yesterday that, you know, some of these plants they, you know, as compared

to maybe a vegetable in the garden, certainly an annual vegetable, kind of don't want to grow.

And I guess that would, to me, imply that they can be a little bit more difficult to

care for in general.

Would you say that's, that's the case?

Josh Brown Yeah, certainly.

So a lot of these, a lot of the plants that we grow, be it vegetables or, you know, tropical

ornamental plants in your house, have gone through decades and decades and decades of

selective breeding to make them like the environment of your house, right?

Like, you can't find, you know, the, the pathos that we grow indoors in its natural environment.

Like, it doesn't, it's not a naturally occurring plant in the same way that like tomatoes are

unrecognizable from their progenitor, right?

So what makes carnivorous plants seem more difficult is that they have not been in cultivation

for very long.

And so you are truly experiencing what it's like to try to grow a plant in its natural

form in your house or in your backyard, thousands of miles from where it is used to growing,

like, like historically where it, it came up.

And so that, that does add a bit of challenge depending on what you're trying to grow and

where you're trying to grow it.
