U.S. personnel were put at risk. I'm Lisa Lacerra. Fox News. That's the finding of a Pentagon

watchdog after looking into the use of signal to relay information about airstrikes. Both U.S. troops

and the overall mission were put at risk when Secretary Pete Hegseth used the signal messaging app

to update officials about airstrikes against terrorists in Yemen.

But an inspector general's report also says Hegseth has the ability to declassify material and did not do so improperly.

Hegset had long denied sharing classified information in the chat,

and a spokesperson for the Pentagon says the IG's report is a

total exoneration for Hegset and the department now considers the matter resolved and the case

closed. The use of signal by senior officials came to light after a journalist was accidentally

added to the chat group. Fox says Jared Helper at the White House. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffrey says he hasn't seen the report but said.

Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky, posting on X, said they're preparing meetings in the

U.S. after special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushir traveled to Moscow to sit down with

Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war. President Trump was asked

about those meetings this afternoon. I thought they had a very good meeting yesterday with

President Putin. We'll see what happens.

Whitkoff and Kushner expected to meet with Ukraine's top negotiator in Miami later this week. A doctor who pled guilty to selling ketamine to Matthew Perry in the weeks before the
