I woke up this morning to some awful news.

Two pilots killed at LaGuardia in a crash on the tarmac.

An Air Canada jet crashing into a firefighting vehicle, and the plane's two pilots were killed.

41 people went to the hospital.

LaGuardia temporarily shut down.

This is a horrible mistake by air traffic controllers.

Never should have happened.

The fire truck was responding to a call for assistance involving some other plane.

What in the world is it doing on the ground in the area where a plane has to come in and land?

I mean, it's just horrible.

And I can't help but think that this is related to just the utter chaos,

the utter and complete chaos at LaGuardia and other airports.

The TSA situation is so out of control now,

and these poor agents who haven't gotten paid for weeks now,

just, you know, at the Atlanta airport, at the New Orleans airport, four and five-hour waits,

stories of people arriving three, four hours early and still not being able to make their plane.

ICE agents are supposed to come today, at least at certain airports, to assist with the screening.

So there's just this general atmosphere of chaos.

And on the question of the TSA, you know, there's a lot of pressure on Congress because this is all a result of the Democrats refusing to fund homeland security, of which

TSA is a part, along with FEMA and other agencies. So repeatedly, Chuck Schumer, Democrats have said,

okay, well, we'll provide funding for TSA. We just don't want to provide it for ICE. And that hasn't been successful.
