My guest for episode 218 is Pat Mastelato.

He started as an LA session drummer in the mid-70s,

playing among others with Kenny Loggin's Patty LaBelle,

the Pointer sisters in Al-Giro.

He was then a founding member of Mr.

Mr., recording four albums with them through 1990.

Through this time and afterwards he was still doing session work with Xt C, the Sugar Cubes,

Halla Notes, the Rembrants, he played on the Friends theme song, Matthew Sweet, Eddie Money,

Many More. Then there was a turning point in his career where he joined a new double trio lineup of King Crimson in 1994.

And he persisted through the various incarnations of that until they broke up in 2021.

He's played with various King Crimson related spin-offs, including Stickmen with Tony Levin

and one of my past guests here, Marcus Reuter,

when Tony is busy playing with Peter Gabriel, others,

and he and Marcus play with Trey Gunn instead as Toner,

and he's involved with many other projects.

Today we're going to talk about the song 31 from

T1 contact information, then flinch by the initial iteration of T-1, which is just Pat and Marcus from 2005's Totum album.

Then we'll look back to his first writing credit, Life Goes On by Mr. Mr. from their first album I Wear the Face 1984 and will conclude by listening
