What we do in machine learning and it is my feel is very different from what people do in other areas of computer science,

including other areas of AI.

What people do in other areas is that they create a different algorithm for every problem

that they want to solve.

If you want to fly a plane, you have to create an algorithm to be the autopilot.

If you want to manage someone's investments, you have to create an algorithm to do that.

Same for playing chess, same for generating Pixar movies, etc.

The thing about machine learning that is truly mind-boggling is that it is a single algorithm doing all of these

different things. It's like a master key. That's where the name comes from. A master

key opens all locks. The master algorithm does all things.

The Chechy PTEs, the view generation,

the generative AI, the non-generative.

Like, you know, it's one algorithm.
