And we are all in San Antonio. We just had our first day of Pax South. This is our third Pax South. This is the third back south. This is, yeah, this is everybody's third Pax South. And you know, there's actually some big stuff here this year. We played quite a bit today. A few things that are pretty

1:11.3

noteworthy. And of course it's a great show for indie games, so I'm sure we'll be talking

1:15.2

about a lot of indie games. So without further ado, I think we should just jump right in.

1:19.6

And I think we should start with the kind of the first thing we all played this morning,

1:25.6

because we had the media hour. We took advantage of that, we ran over to the Nintendo Switch. And we played Speed Runners No For the eighth year in the row Wait, did you play Speed Runners? No, Speed Runners is on the show floor No, I actually discovered Speed Runners for the first time today I didn't know that the game existed What? Yeah, I was like, what was that game? I think it. And Brad was like, that's speed runners. That's been around for like years. Yeah. I had no idea. But no, we ran over to the Nintendo booth this morning. We got our hands on the Nintendo Switch. So aside from the hardware, we played Zelda. We played snipper clips. We played arms. Arms. We played one, two, switch We played Splatoon, two, Yep, Street Fighter, uh, I don't know, Brad, you're gonna have to help us the title of that Street Fighter game. Violent kin. Violent kin. I don't know what that means, but, uh, and then we also played, uh, what was the last one? There's one more. Ah, shit, what was the last one? No more heroes? Bomberman. Bomberman, yeah. Okay. Zelda. I already said that. Zelda was the one I opened with. So I think first, before we talk about games, I think we should, this, the big deal is that we finally got to get our hands on the hardware. So where should we start there?

2:35.0

We played a number of different...

2:36.0

It's smaller than I thought it was going to be. Yeah, like the actual system itself. Yeah, like when you hold it and stuff, I didn't think it was going to be that small. And I guess you only see it on like TV or on the internet or whatever. You don't actually hold it in your hands. I don't think until you actually have it, that you realize how small it is.

2:50.6

Yeah.

2:50.8

But it's, like, comparing it to the Wii U game pad.

2:53.5

It's smaller, but smaller but like more dense. Yeah. It doesn't feel like it's sort of like light, so it feels like solid. It feels less plastic. Yeah, it feels more, it feels more high quality. It's a pretty, it's a pretty substantial feel. Like it feels sturdy, which I like. So. How about those joycons? That was a tiny. They're so small. They're not comfortable. They're so small. Especially pressing the shoulder ones. Like, we're playing snipper clips and rotating. Dude, because there's right bumpers and right triggers. I'm pretty sure the right bumpers are about a millimeter wide. Yeah. So they are so thin. We're talking right now about using those to play games like when you hold it sideways and use it 20. Any game, honestly. No, even on when you're holding it docked, you still have bumpers and triggers. Yeah. And the bumpers are like thin. They're like so thin. They are thin. You need an attachment, right, to use the bumpers on the back of the joyconcum? No, you don't. No, they do have, they do have an attachment for certain ones. But if you don't have it, there are still these two, like, little tiny buttons. They're recessed. Yeah. It's not good. It's like you almost need that accessory to use it, but technically you don't. Well, technically you need it, but it also comes with it. I mean, I guess you could easily lose it, though, at how small it is. Because all that does is just really, it just adds the... It turns them into buckling. It adds a little more girth. No, it adds the fucking wrist thing, the strap. Did y'all, so it, the size didn't seem to bother me when I was playing them where I was holding each one, you know, kind of independently of the controller. For me, it was when you turn the actual thing sideways and try and use it like an S&S controller. That's when it gets super tiny. Yeah, it just feels like a baby toy
