| 0:00.0 | Hey everybody. Welcome to 4-player podcast. This is our first official, I guess not our second official, but day one of E3, 2014 podcast. Today was, um, press conference day. So myself, my name is Nick Henderson. I'll be your host this evening. Brad Simons. Yes, that's me. And Christopher Davis. That's me. And we spent all day |
| 0:38.9 | today running around town, going to all the big E3, all four of the big E3 press conferences. |
| 0:45.3 | There was a lot of surprising stuff, a lot of... |
| 0:48.5 | Started out, the day started out pretty good. You know, it was a little bit of an emotional roller coaster today. Just a little bit. |
| 0:54.0 | It was... Maybe a kiddie roller coaster coaster it was just like a roller coaster that kept going down no i wouldn't say no i wouldn't agree with that no i think it there was a pretty soft there was a pretty clear dip in the day and then went back up and then it evened out for a while yeah i'm just gonna say that okay okay okay but we're gonna talk about all the stuff we have Brad has an extent let's get to it let's just gonna dive call of duty advanced warfare we're gonna start with Microsoft I'm gonna make sure everybody knows what we're talking about Microsoft press conference we're start we're kicking things off with the Microsoft press press conference then we'll talk about the EA conference then we'll talk about the Ubisoft press conference and we'll talk |
| 1:28.4 | about the Sony press conference so at the top of the Microsoft press |
| 1:31.6 | conference we got call of duty advanced warfare what did you all think I'm gonna be |
| 1:36.2 | honest here I walk I saw that demonstration way more impressed by that than I was |
| 1:42.4 | expecting to me it doesn't appear to do anything that separate, that, I'm trying to figure out how to put this. It is still a pretty traditional, linear. Structurally is a call of duty game. It is structurally a call of duty game. And if that's what bothers you? No, but it doesn't bother them. Because there's a very clear distinction between, you know, |
| 2:02.1 | Call of Duty, Battlefield, |
| 2:04.9 | and then games like Far Cry or Rainbow Six, |
| 2:06.3 | the Division, which we'll be talking about later. |
| 2:10.2 | But this is still very structurally a Call of Duty game, |
| 2:17.2 | but there was enough new ideas within what we saw of advanced warfare that it was funny because during the during the |
| 2:20.6 | actual presentation Brad looked to me and he goes they're basically turning this into like |
| 2:24.4 | stylistically or like gameplay wise it looks like a like Metroid okay even Halo |
| 2:29.3 | like it's specifically the double jumping and the dashing is super fucking metric prime. |
| 2:34.9 | Which is hilarious. |
| 2:36.2 | They put in advanced technology that gave you a double jump. |
| 2:40.9 | To a degree, it also looks a little tight and fallish. |
| 2:43.9 | Yeah, a little bit. |
| 2:44.4 | The guns look like they're from Halo. |
