Hello. Today, Seb and I were joined by Paul and Joe Lake.

Seb, who are those people?

Paul and Joe Lake wrote one of my favorite football books of all time. Paul was a highly

promising, a Manchester City player. He got hurt the very first within a month of the Premier

League starting. And he was Manchester City's captain. He was two and a half games into his

captaincy and a new five-year contract

and he hurt his knee and it ended his career. And when they got married, Paul and Joe wrote a

brilliant account of not just his injury and his struggles to overcome it, but also his

afterlife, his rebound from that and his life after football.

It was just absolutely fascinating book.

And I, anyone who I've never, you know, it's that rare thing.

It's a football book that I've never heard anybody say anything bad about.

It's universally loved.

And rightly so.

No, it's very, very good. And what was

most interesting to me about the podcast that we've just recorded is the discussion about the

dynamic between those two people as well. Because that, you know, the process of writing a book

about, you know, your husband's life for Joe, who's a ghostwriter by trade, is a very

interesting and intimate process. So we were curious to dig down into that little bit more to
