Braybble mentioned this, by the way, as we were talking about AJ Brown of the draft, or now, excuse me, at the combine. And he brought up, well, trades happen all the time. Now, the draft, the summer. And that to me said, they've kind of had the long view in this. again, it might not happen. I predict that it will because there's a long window here, really right up until kickoff of week one, which I think is like September 13th this year. But this interests me. The talk will not go away. But for now, they've got a little bit better, again, of a plan B. So yeah, I think in general, it's just like they've added their team. They've made their football team better. And I think a lot of people around the league feel exactly like we do that A.J. Brown is going to end up in Foxborough, whether it's next week or, you know, three months from now. No. I don't think so. I think they've improved their team. I think the signing of, I keep

butchering the guy's name, I keep want to say Byrd, the safety, I think that was the

acquisition of their offseason. I think that makes them, the defense is already good.

But adding somebody back there at all pro caliber veteran who can, you saw the NFL

films when the Seattle, the Seahawks defense was calling out what they thought was coming

next to have a guy back there that can do that to the opposition and put Gonzalez and Carlton Davis and Woodson

in the right place and that secondary is going to make them really tough to throw the ball on and move

the ball.

And red zone defense covering tight ends, all the things that plagued them during the season,

I think a guy like that really makes that an elite defense no matter what the schedule is. So Jim Murray, do they need A.J. Brown or someone like him to make this a successful offseason. A truly successful offseason, yes. It's been successful because I graded it a B or Bish yesterday. But it's been good. I've been impressed with what they've done. But truly, truly successful in putting them back in legitimate Super Bowl contention. Last year, they defied everyone's expectations. And, you know, you had a kind of a soft road. You play Jared Stidham, the AFC championship game. So that was ahead of schedule. But if you add A.J. Brown to what they've already done, well, next year, it wouldn't be kind of fluky. You would truly be a Super Bowl contender.

Yeah, you know, I'd like to just clarify what I said yesterday. Am I feeling on the Patriots so far in free agency? I think they've done a good job. And I said that yesterday, I think they've done a good job. They've exceeded my expectations. To this point, can I just make that clear? I thought after the first official day of free agency,

as I've said, I enjoy doing, and I thought I was going to be doing that, and that hasn't happened.

They, I think, to this point, they've done more than I thought, and so that's how I feel about it today. That's not to say that if this is all they do, that I'll be satisfied. I don't think that, no, no, no, sir. I just think to this point, I'm pleased. Because I think they easily, given what they spent and then what they accomplished, could have gone in the other direction and had some cover to do so you know and and they didn't do it so i'm i'm pleased by that what i would
