Hello and welcome to Mailbag 2.0, our Patreon Mailbag series. This is DJ Zulo, coming to you a day after the Knicks

snuck out a victory in Brooklyn against the Brooklyn Nets, 99 to 95 in a game that was way too

close for comfort.

The Knicks were able to make enough plays down the stretch.

I thought their defense was excellent.

And offensively, it was a slog for most of the second half,

especially early in that four through most of the fourth quarter.

But they were able to make enough plays on offense led by Jalen Brununson, to pull out a victory and now have a three-game respite here

to lick their wounds, gain some much-needed rest, and go into this break,

29 and 16.

So you're looking at the record macro sense. The team is performing really well. The net

rating is really solid. There are only two games back of the Boston Celtics and the Atlantic

division. But we all know that the team has not met the task at hand in terms of

competing with the very best in the NBA.

Now we know that there's plenty of season left so they can certainly turn that tide plenty

time to do that.

And we will, I'm sure, get some questions based around that idea of like how can they compete

with the truly best teams in the NBA to reach the hopeful championship ceiling.
