The record-breaking heat wave impacting much of the country is only getting more brutal today.

It's already extending from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic, and today it moves up to the northeast.

The National Weather Service says hundreds of records could be tied or broken this week.

Specifically, 270 million Americans will face temperatures above 90 degrees, as well as high
