Perkorean, Executive Director of the center. And today we're going to

talk about something that is very important in the immigration enforcement area but doesn't get

as much focus as it should and isn't understood as well as it should be. And that is the issue of

detention, immigration detention. This is not keeping people in jail or prison for

committing a crime. This is civil detention holding on to people until they can be removed. And so

even though it's the same kind of thing, I mean, you're in a building and the doors are locked.

It's a very fundamentally a different thing. And we have with us Art Arthur, Andrew Arthur, on our

staff, who not only knows a lot about this in theory, but also was for many years an immigration

judge in a detention center for illegal aliens. So this is something he has direct firsthand
