This is Mark McCrory, an executive director of the center.

And today we're going to talk not about the foreign-born population and the statistics at the national level,

but at the state level. Obviously, we've reported before that we are now at the national level,

the highest level of foreign-born percentage in the population

ever recorded. Not just numbers. Obviously, the numbers are large because our population is bigger

than it used to be, although numbers have their own quality. What is it? Quantity has its

quality all its own, somebody said.

But the share of immigrants in the population is now at the highest rate ever recorded.
