0:38.1	it. Today we're going to be talking about exams, teenagers and exams, all exams, really,
0:44.3	and how to take the stress out of them from tomorrow, May the 8th, right the way through to June
0:49.5	the 24th, we've got A-Levels and GCSEs in this country. And those have come straight after mocks.
0:54.9	And we know that some of our uni students are doing end-of-term exams as well.
0:59.2	Yes. And most students will be doing end-of-year exam. So generally it's quite a stressful time
1:04.0	in the school year, isn't it? And I know, Lorraine, you've got some new thoughts on this because you do a lot of research about it. You talk to all the experts about it.
1:12.4	Is it true?
1:13.3	This is a bit of a scary question.
1:14.8	Is it true that UK children are among the most tested in the world?
1:18.9	Yes, I've looked at lots of surveys, actually, and kind of a recent one by the Cambridge
1:23.1	primary review survey of global education systems does show that our children in this country
1:29.1	get more prolonged and regular testing than most parts of the Western world. So it does feel
1:34.3	a little relentless for them. And I'd certainly know I've got a son doing A levels now, has been
1:39.2	quite stressful for him. And then we had a point with my older two, who were 21 and 22 now when we had
1:45.0	GCSEs and A-levels at the same time. So it is hard and I think it's very hard for parents to
1:51.3	work out how much to do and how to deal with the stress, basically. I think you probably found
1:57.8	that, didn't you? Because you had twins going through it the same time. Well, I did. But of course we had COVID.
