And April Callahan. Cass, this little fact about me will come to no surprise to you.

I love nothing more than a really good jumpsuit. I don't even know how many I own.

And that's just one reason that I'm excited to talk about today about the iconic late 70s and

1980s brand parachute. Because jumpsuits were one of their staple lexicons across the entire

existence of the brand. And I just want to add on jumpsuits for both men and women. And I'm going

to cite today's guests on some of her musing on this topic. She says, quote, the brand's

generalist jumpsuits with broad, padded shoulders and asymmetrical zippers were an amalgamation of

references, including space, age, fashion of 1960s designers Pierre Cardin and Andre Carrèche,

utilitarian workwear and military flight suits. End quote. And what is not to love about all of that?

Absolutely. And we also really love the fashion presses descriptions of parachute

fashions from this time, calling them everything from quote unquote galactic cowboys to blade runner

goes to Tokyo or quote something between a San Marai and a rugby player. You guys are starting

to get the picture. I bet. And I would also just like to add to those descriptions, think the

new wave music scene also dress listeners. And that's actually something that our guest today

is going to flesh out with us in terms of parachutes connections to underground music subcultures

of the 1980s. So a very warm welcome back to a past dressed guest and actually one of my best
