Summary

Janice’s husband works in China and hasn’t been able to travel home to Australia since January; Kassidy and her partner have merged their combined five kids under the age of seven and are learning to live together while figuring out new ways to do their jobs; Stephanie returned from maternity leave just before the pandemic, resuming work as an ICU nurse in one of the country’s early hot spots. All three are also moms juggling the demands of caring for their families as the pandemic wears on. 0:39.0	Today I am talking with Janice, a stay-at-home mom of two who lives in Melbourne, Australia.
0:45.2	Janice, thank you so much for being here and tell us a little bit about your family
0:49.3	and how old your kids are and just about your family situation right now.
0:54.0	Okay, so as you said, I'm a stay-home mom and my kids are Evan, he's seven years old and
0:59.9	no is four years old.
1:02.1	So my husband lived in China, he works there with British
1:06.3	telecommunications. Before I became a solo parent, We used to live in China as expat. So my youngest one was born there.
1:18.9	But my husband decided to stay on while I came back with the kids first to Melbourne and that was purely because of my son's education.
1:31.0	So I think it's called differently in America. I think you guys call it preschool.
1:36.0	Okay. And then kindergarten, I think, whereas we do kindergarten and then prep and then grade school.
1:44.0	Okay. So we came back and that was July 2017 and Evan was like five years old.
1:51.0	Okay. So he did half a year of kind
1:53.2	and then prep and then grade one and now he's in grade two.
