myself Mandy and my dear friend Melissa. Hi, Melissa. Hi, Mandy. How are you? I'm doing so good.

It's a Saturday. We're recording on a Saturday, which is so unusual for us.

0:38.6

It is. Yeah, it's unusual and it puts a lot of stress on me, but we'll get it all edited

0:44.2

and ready for Tuesday. I'm sure it will be just fine and it will go off without a hitch,

hopefully. So I don't think we have anything to talk about this at the top of the episode this week. So we are just going to jump right into the case, which is quite a banana's case, if you ask me. B-A-N-A-N-A-S in the words of Gwen Stefani. Yeah, also you didn't ask me. But it is crazy. So we're just going to get right into it. So we're talking today about Betsy Faria. She was the youngest of three sisters, but being the baby of the family actually did not slow her down at all. She was very strong-willed and lively and was what some would call a social butterfly. When she was 18 years old, she took a job as a DJ and her outgoing personality

shined through. She had the ability to make anybody get out on the dance floor and she knew how to

set the mood for a fun night of dancing. Betsy eventually began a relationship that produced two

single mother.

That is, until Russ Ferrea walked into her life. He was exactly the type of man that Betsy

1:50.4

was attracted to with his very outgoing personality and his big heart. She was drawn to his

1:55.4

happy spirit and his ability to make her laugh and turn anything into a joke. The couple

quickly fell in love and encouraged each other to follow their dreams,

and it wasn't long before Russ became a father figure to Betsy's two little girls.

Their life was perfect, and the couple married in January of 2000.

2:11.1

They started their life together in Troy, Missouri, which is about an hour outside of St. Louis,

2:15.3

and we're going to tell you a little bit about this area in this week's segment of we Google this city. So Troy is a city in Missouri, as Mandy said, and as of the 2010 census, the population was 10,540. And I'm really trying here, guys. But once again, there weren't a ton of facts in Troy. So we cast our net a little further, and we are going to talk a little about St. Louis, Missouri.

2:35.7

St. Louis is home to some well-known people in American history, like the poet, Maya Angelou,

2:41.1

and also the king of whatever country grammar is, Nellie, and nine-time Grammy Award winner,

2:46.5

Cheryl Crow.
