Palmer Lucky is our guest today.

He's the founder of Oculus and the founder of military technology company Andrew.

So just to catch you up, Lucky's Oculus is the backbone of Meta's Metaverse strategy.

He sold Oculus to the company back when Meta was Facebook for $2 billion in 2014.

Then it fired him in 2017. And a few years later,

it changed his name from Facebook to Meta. Now Lucky is working on Andrel, which uses AI and

weapons and other technology for warfare. I wanted to speak with Lucky for so many reasons. I figured

first he'd have terrific perspective on meta's ambitions in the

metaverse, whether they're misguided, and he'd also have the ability to speak freely about the

subject as an ex-employee. I also learned he's used some version of Apple's forthcoming,

AR, mixed reality, or virtual reality headset. We still don't fully know all the details about

that, so plenty of that discussion coming up

in the first half. I also find the concept of Andrel fascinating and worth challenging in some areas

and wanted to speak directly to Palmer about what he's doing there. And that's coming up in the

second half. That conversation definitely takes some intriguing twists and turns. So stay tuned for that.
