Kevin Burgess was like many kids growing up on the south side of St. Petersburg, Florida. Depressed, hopeless.

After his parents' divorce, he'd moved from a place of relative safety to a community where

drugs and violence seemed to rule, where young men don't expect to grow old. He spent his

days trying to figure out how to keep himself and his family safe. And he felt forgotten by society. That's when

an acquaintance handed him a Christian hip-hop CD. It was a genre of hip-hop. Kevin didn't even know

existed. And by the time he finished listening, his life was completely changed. Kevin Burgess is

better known by his stage name, KB, and today he is a Christian hip hop artist, music executive,

author, and a man with a heart to shepherd the lost and hurting to the same hope in Jesus that he's
