This is CBS I in the world. I'm John Bachelor. Pacific Watch is Jeff Bliss. We go immediately

after the storms have passed the snowpack and the melting of the snowpack, threatening

parts of California. Jeff, you're in Orange County, which I do not believe is under

immediate threat of that snowpack. What was it? Six stories, seven stories high. But the

central valley is what do we know so far about the concern? Can it melt slowly and run off?

Or what are they expecting? Good evening to you. Good evening, John. There's great concern

now that we're going to have a pretty sudden melt off, as they say. And that water is going

to come downhill like it always does. And it's going to end up in the valley, the central

valley. Now there are places in the central valley that are already been inundated.

Their fall and tens of purposes are gone because of the flooding that happened during the

17 atmospheric rivers that we had run through the west. But now when all of that snow

melts up in the mountains, it comes down. It's going to hit the low spots, which are a lot

of it's in the central valley. So you're talking in some places, 40, 50, 60 feet of snow

melting. I can only imagine what that's going to be like in the rivers and the flood control

channels and the other tributaries because it's going to be a mess. They're very, very

concerned. They think that they haven't seen anything yet. Yes, we had a lot of damage

from winds and tornadoes even and the rains. But they think the real test is going to come

when things warm up and the snow starts to melt in the big way.

We go from the concern about the snow pack, which will watch all the way to July, where

they've extended the ski season. We go to a tragedy in San Francisco. We read about

this here on the East Coast, Jeff, the death of a young man who was extremely successful

in serial startups tech companies found murdered in San Francisco streets. I believe overnight.
