I'm getting bombarded. It's now Friday morning after the

Thursday night pick at 26. The Packers selecting Jordan Love. And yes, flashbacks to where I was 15

years ago. It was to the day that the Packers selected Aaron Rogers. So to the day, 15 years ago,

the Packers used a first-round pick on a quarterback while having a future Hall of Famer franchise quarterback playing at a

superior level on the roster at age 35. The parallels are Erie. The similarities are there. There are a couple different points to it. The Packers traded up this year. They didn't trade up for Rogers, of course. Let's talk about it. First, a flashback. So I've told this story many times. I'll give it in a brief version so we can compare and contrast. In 2005, that fateful night of April 23rd, I'm sorry, it was a day then,

they didn't do night drafts then, and they had 15 minutes per pick, two things happened. Number one,

we had, I believe, 18 players rated in the first round, and 17 of them went like wildfire.

In other words, everyone we wanted that we had rated a first round grade, gone.

We wanted to Marcus Ware, bad, gone, cowboys.

We wanted Marcus Spears, bad, gone, cowboys.

We wanted Derek Johnson linebacker, bad, gone, chiefs.

And it was clear that everyone was being taken that had a first round grade from our board except one player.

And that leads to the second thing that happened that night.
