The strike of SAG after my union to California to Jeff Bliss is Pacific Watch.

The strike dominates the news because this is an enormous part of the income of Southern California

and the nation. Jeff, the strike these last weeks have come to Peggy Newton writing a column

in the Wall Street Journal. Peggy puts it this way, my fear is that the conflict is in between

competent owners of companies operating profitably and union members who want a large share.

It's not forward in the 1960s versus the guys on the assembly line. It's not the secure versus the

hungry. It looks more like lost people without vision. That would be the studios versus

aggrieved people feeling genuine grief. That would be the actors. That would be SAG after on strike.

Is this dominating the news in Los Angeles and is there any indication that the media is taking

sides in this? Good evening to you, Jeff. Meet me, John. It is the top story aside from any

breaking news, but even then it often dominates whatever stories are out there on TV, on radio,

on the websites that are dedicated to local news and the newspapers, of course. The reason it dominates

the way it does is because Hollywood, Los Angeles and much of Southern California could be considered

a company town, certainly around the LA area. Not only do you have all those actors who are on strike

and all those writers who are now on strike, but you have people who work in various aspects that

support those people or are impacted by the work, whether it's directors and producers or
