Jeff Bliss is Pacific Watch, and this is at the movies with Pacific Watch.

Jeff has done us all the favor of attending the new Indiana Jones movie,

getting much attention in the political media,

having to do with its vocabulary, its choices, its endings, its set pieces.

But I remind everyone that Indiana Jones has been with us since 1981.

This itself is a flashback to my youth,

and Pacific Watch is even younger youth.

And so, when we approach Indiana Jones,

it's never in the context of, did you like the movie?

It's the concept, it's the whole idea of growing up with Indiana Jones,

and his preposterous escapes from a certain doom.

Reminiscent for me of going to the Saturday afternoon,

Matt Nay in Norworth, Pennsylvania, in the 1950s and 60s,

because right at the end there, there were still serials

that were given to movie theaters to play before the main feature.

There would always be a main feature like the blob with Steve McQueen,

a great scary movie. You had to be there, but they played serials beforehand.

So now we go to Indiana Jones's last farewell.
