It's Wednesday, September 13th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

In a major update to this morning's Morning Wire episode, authorities have captured

Danilo Cavalcante, the convicted murderer and a legal alien who's been on the run from

authorities for the past two weeks after escaping Chester County prison.

He escaped on August 31st in a sense led hundreds of law enforcement officers on a major

police search.

Here's Pennsylvania Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens.

It is a true pleasure to stand here this morning and talk to all of you about bringing

this manhunt to successful conclusion and without getting anyone else hurt most importantly.

None of this would be possible without the support of this team represented by members

of various agencies standing with us up here by others standing throughout this fire

hall and by still more who are out there in the field.

Bivens also made a point of defending law enforcement who posed for a photo with the handcuffed

convict.

Those men and women worked amazingly hard through some very trying circumstances.

They're proud of their work.

I'm not bothered at all by the fact that they took a photograph with him in custody.

The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed today that the Consumer Price Index for all

urban consumers rose 0.6% in August, rising 3.7% over the last year.

That followed a rise of 3.2% in July in consumer price growth, making that two successive months

of price increases, stoking fears that inflation may be more persistent than economists had hoped.
