This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I'm John Bachelor with Jeremy Zachus and we turn to the cricket report.

Remember this is Ash's year, so everything's about that big five day test in five different

different cities coming starting December.

But it turns out Australia has a secret weapon

that's just grinding up the earth. That's the women's team of

cricket. Jeremy they beat Pakistan. Now Pakistan is a country that's very

accustomed to winning. Is this an unusual occasion the women beating everybody I've read about?

This is, this is a little, well I won't say it's a little bit odd because I don't want to take credit

away from the Australian team, but you're right, the Pakistani teams tend to be very, very strong, especially on the men's side, but also the women's side as well. But quietly behind the scenes, what we've been seeing actually is the Australian women's

cricket team has been getting stronger and stronger and so strong that they're actually

now very competitive in the world of I guess you could say kind of major league cricket and what I mean by that is the one day international cricket which is that kind of cricket that's played over the space of a day is actually very hard strategically because you have to basically almost in like a Blitz Creek fashion

win the game using very simple strategies that you maintain across the course of a day

and it takes a lot of energy out of you basically.

And that sort of form of cricket is hard to do.

But our Australian women's cricket team seems to be mastering it and so much though that this week

they've actually convincingly beaten the Pakistani team by several wickets

over several games and it looks like they're going to continue to do so because our Australian team right now has shown

also when they've come up against the English

and also against some of their Indian rivals that are actually doing the same thing as well.

So I think John is funny, we kind of looked at the men's side because of the ashes and we've kind of been watching very closely how our test teams have done which are all pretty much the men's teams, but we've got a very strong women's team that are coming up through the ranks and honestly I think

they're almost becoming an dSA I don't want to jinx them almost unbeatable so I

think their winner against Pakistan this year was or in the last month was was very good but I think this year
