I'm John Batcher with Jeremy Zakis. We need a break and the break is a giant carpet

0:06.8

Python. Jeremy remind everybody a carpet python can live in the roof and people coexist with it because it's not

0:14.8

venomous however it's also hungry what has this carpet python eaten?

0:20.3

Well John that's the million dollar question here in Australia. And this carpet

0:26.2

python is actually on the Sunshine Coast just north of Brisbane in our illustrious state of

0:31.1

Queensland, which, as you know with all our snake stories most of the

0:34.6

best ones come out of Queensland and and what happened this week was this

0:38.1

carpet python was found in a shed which happens you know almost every day in

0:42.2

Queensland but it had a massive bulginous midriff.

0:45.5

So the owner took a photo, immediately posted it online, the Sunshine Coast snake catches actually

0:50.5

got there as well, and everybody was baffled.

0:53.4

What had this carpet python eaten?

0:56.0

And honestly, John, it's actually made the national news year.

0:58.6

1:14.4

catches who are probably the experts in this region say it's actually too big to be a possum. So what people are thinking now is, was it some kind of larger animal maybe a baby

1:24.4

fox or was it some kind of domestic pet although people are quick to point out or at

1:29.0

least they're in the local council area where it was found nobody's reported any pets missing so I think

1:33.8

luckily enough hopefully nobody's lost their pet but this was a phenomenal

1:38.1

and truly John if you have a look at the photo that's about a maybe seven to 10 inch diameter bold in that

1:44.6

platform which is normally only about three to four in the center when it hasn't

1:47.7

eaten so this this snake was hungry and it's certainly found its dinner and

1:51.6

I guess we'll probably be talking about this
