Wales, the headline, Crazy Snake Behavior during Ocey Winter,, baffling snake catchers.

The subhead explains very little about how weird,

so we'll go to Jeremy, but I'll read a little bit.

An Ossie snake catcher is warning of bizarre behavior among snakes amid an unseasonably active winter that's seen some reptiles go after the most outrageous prey.

Jeremy, you tell me that snakes are taking on pigs?

Is that correct?

That's correct.

I never thought I'd be talking about this ever,

but snakes are now trying to eat pigs and large wildlife

including eagles including small dogs including every animal they can find and when snakes, John, I'm not just talking about

pythons. So if you imagine Anacondas and large pythons with big jaws, you can imagine they at some point

will, you know, think of pigs a tasty treat. But I'm actually talking about brown snakes as well, red belly black snakes,

smaller snakes which are very, very venomous, but typically only eat mice and small animals.

But these snakes, for whatever reason reason as we speak in this cold

cold winter of Australia are completely crazy they've completely gone off the

rails and what's happening now is because we've had unseasonably warm weather leading up into this

winter and we're getting these very weird cold snaps followed by very warm snaps the

poor old snakes are going absolutely crazy that they don't know whether they're

supposed to be hibernating whether they're supposed to be hibernating,

whether they're supposed to be out and about trying to get food for the next

spring and summer, or what they're supposed to be doing for the next breeding season.
