This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I'm John Bachelor with Jeremy Zuckus.

Over the last weeks, months really, Jeremy and I have been noticing that the snakes are

acting oddly, but we don't have professional scientific observations, we're just going on

anecdotes. Jeremy assures me that if there is an unusual snake or reptile story, it

makes all of Australia's newspapers so everybody can enjoy a laugh.

Now we have a snake season, and even for the snake catchers who are professionals who have seen

everything.

They're not quite sure what to call it.

Is this unheard of?

Is this new?

Something new?

And what are they doing awake?

John it's all of the above this is unusual this is this is new and I guess that is

the salient question what are they doing at wake because the reality is we're in an

Australian winter right now which means those pythons should be asleep they should be in

hibernation and and what's happened here is in Queensland which which is again a part of the country that is known for its pythons and it's known for its snakes.

We've had a case of two pythons bound on a Queensland roof basically wrestling and these are big snakes these are

five flabong snakes that are probably about three inches in diameter and that really

really going on top of the roof there and of course somebody got a video and it's gone

viral but but what the snake catchers have actually pointed out is that these
