I'm John Dr. with Jeremy Zakis of New South Wales.

Cricket.

It is a national obsession in Australia and many other parts of the British Commonwealth.

Not the United States, not yet anyway.

There are two kinds of games Jeremy told me, of two styles of cricket.

There's the five-day test, which is traditional, conservative.

They wear whites.

People sit in the stands, sip beers, sip lemonade, whatever.

It goes on for days.

There's one meat, which can be called for darkness and then start again the next day.

There's no hurry here.

Batters are patient and they wait for the right pitch.

The bowlers are tricky and can be aggressive.

However, the general pace is pastoral.

And then there's T20, which Jeremy tells me is a new phenomenon.

Is the game that probably is coming to the United States because rather than take five

days or longer if it gets rained out, which you did a lot in Australia last summer, it

can only take about three hours, which is the length of a, oh, say, a tenening baseball

game.

But now T20 is inventing rules because it's playing indoors.

Jeremy, this looks like once you let T20 in the door, they're going to continue to hybridize
