Jeremy Zach is reporting Billy Kallit. He's an Australian Reptile Parks Ranger.

He says that an eastern brown bite can be painless,

which can make them very dangerous.

Please explain that, Jeremy.

Yes, this is something that's unfortunate about the brown snake bites here in

Australia is that often when a person's bitten by a creature especially a venomous

one and it's true for a lot of snake bites.

Immediately there's a burning sensation a feeling that you have been bitten.

So basically it's a warning sign in the body saying that you've been bitten.

This is dangerous.

There's a lot of pain.

Go and get a lot of help. But the unusual thing about the

great eastern brown snake and the brown snake bite is that people can be bitten and a lot of people don't feel the

sensation of pain. They feel the immediate prick of the actual

things going into the body, but then they feel almost a sensation of calm and

almost a sensation of feeling well because there's no real burning or

immediate sense of pain straight away.

But the problem is, and this is what we're now being warned about, is that if you think you've been bitten,

even if you aren't 100% sure, and you're still not feeling any pain get immediately to the hospital because

while you're feeling no pain those toxins are moving through your body at rapid speed

getting into your heart getting into your kidneys getting into your liver getting into
