about English, the England team making excuses for why they lost the ashes in Australia a year and a half ago.

It a John, yes, this was a phenomenal test game, even if it wasn't the ashes, just a stand-alone test.

This was one to watch because what happened as you rightly said, Australia was trailing behind the English the entire time.
