Jeremy Zaccus joins from New South Wales. It is fall in the southern hemisphere.

Jeremy is in New South Wales, which is the east coast of a continent. And what we report now is

unusual for me. I've never learned the weather patterns, the climate. Of Australia, and I'm learning with Jeremy and this winter looks to be strikingly vivid

Right now there's such a thing as an Arctic blast and when they say Arctic they mean Antarctic

And it looks to have gripped When they say Arctic, they mean Antarctic.

And it looks to have gripped the whole of the East Coast,

even up to Queensland.

Jeremy, the rains, have they stopped

and the Arctic blast?

What's it been like this last week?

I understand you had some wind.

Gidde John, yes, we have had some wind,

not just some wind.

We have had an absolutely polar blast. so you're correct in saying it's

actually characterized as an Arctic blast because of the strength of the wind is very

similar to what you see in the Northern Territory, but it actually comes from Antarctica,

and it has been incredibly strong winds all the way from Melbourne down in the

southeast of Australia, all the way up to Queensland, which are forced Brisbane and and even as far as towns will

typically there is that just don't get cold wind but the wind itself has been

gale force and it has been gale force for at least two to three days here in Sydney, even more so down in Victoria,

and it looks like we're going to get more across the next, at least the first part of next week.
