supervising producer here at Slates sitting in for our host Brian and Christina who are sick

and Jules who is getting in the swing of the new semester. They will be back in their seats

as soon as possible. Now that we are in September, the election is imminent.

I mean, we've been hearing about it for what feels like forever to me,

but we can also finally see it on the horizon.

Last month, the Democrats held their convention in

Chicago and there was a lot of attention on things like the music choices for the

roll call including Little John repping for Georgia and also the Beyoncé

rumor that took over the internet on the final night of the convention.

But because of Biden dropping out in July, this convention also became a de facto kick off of

Kamala Harris's presidential campaign in a way that it is usually not.

A few people from Slate were on the ground in Chicago reporting and today I'll be talking to one of them

about some of the queer moments that didn't get as much attention online during or post convention

and what those moments tell us about the Harris campaign's positions on queer issues.
