Summary

Hey everyone, this is an interruption to our normal podcasting. We would like to say, “We are sorry.”

Recently we announced some changes to our format, including some prize-related incentives to participating on our Facebook Live recordings of the podcast episodes. We’ve received feedback from some of you that has caused us to pause, reflect, and rethink our plan.
It was never our intent to “cast aside” or in any way devalue a podcast listener over a Facebook Live viewer but our strategy and the way we communicated it certainly seem to have done just that.
As a company, we want to aggressively grow our audience, and we know that the best way to do that is to publish the podcast in new places and in new formats and work to grow the audience in those places. It seems that in our hurry to do that we may have left our loyal listeners feeling stepped on.
And for that, we sincerely apologize.
Click above to listen to our full thoughts and explanation but in short, know that moving forward here is what we are going to do.
First, we still plan to do a weekly podcast giveaway but instead of restricting that to those who can be live with us on Facebook each Tuesday we will instead open that up to anyone. It makes complete sense that we would give ALL listeners an equal chance to win our weekly giveaway. Each week go to www.concealedcarry.com/podcastprize and enter. Regardless of your participation live with us or not you will be entered and will have an equal chance to win.
Second, we will more carefully consider how we engage with live viewers and comments during the live shows so that the integrity of the audio-only experience isn’t compromised. We truly believe that the live engagement with viewers does increase the value of the show but that needs to be done without creating an audio experience that is frustrating, distracting, or confusing.
Third, we will do an additional giveaway each week specifically targeted to those who are able to join us live on Facebook during our Thursday broadcasts. Thus we will do at least 2 giveaways weekly with the primary being the weekly one that any listener, live on Facebook or not, can participate in.
This is our way of trying to both grow our audience and our platform while rewarding all loyal listeners regardless of the format, time, or place where they choose to listen or watch.
Thank you for the feedback!
